COACHES NEEDED

The beginning of the 2008 football season is approaching, and as has been the case in many of the past few years we need coaches. Assistant coaches are needed, especially in the younger divisions. Qualifications are not near as bad as people think. To be an assistant coach with the Little Devils, we only ask a few things. Have some understanding of the game, be good with children, and an outgoing personality is a plus. We are as everyone knows we are an all volunteer organization. Coaching is one of the toughest spots to fill. You do not have to be a former college or semi-pro football player to coach 5 to 10 year olds.

You can not coach on the team that your child plays on. This has been a problem with many people wanting to coach. Being a football parent, AND a coach I can tell you that if you will only coach your own son's team, then you only want to coach your son. I do miss seeing him practice, but I get the pure joy of seeing kids take the information that I am giving them at using it out on the field. In the 2007 season I missed ONE of my son's games due to coaching in my own game.

Even if you decide that you can only help coach at practice, and maybe now and then at games, we understand that. Practice is when most of the coaching is done. It is when they are all learning, and all of the kids are working at one time. On game day it is more about execution of what they are taught in practice.

So please if you are able bodied and love the game, as well as the children, please come out and help EMAIL me for more information or watch the site for upcoming coaches meetings. We would love to have your help!

A participant's age is determined by their age on September 1, 2007.  All participants must make the initial weight for their corresponding age division by the League deadline, the 2nd Tuesday in September.  Beginning with the second week of League play, all participants will receive a one pound growth allowance every two weeks throughout the season.  For example, a 10 year old Pee Wee is allowed to weigh 101 pounds in week two, 102 pounds in week four, 103 pounds in week six, 104 pounds in week eight, and 105 pounds in week ten.  Position restrictions will be determined at the pre-game weigh in on a weekly basis.
